La Quinta
The famous pedestrian 5th Avenue of downtown Playa del Carmen is home to a wide array of shops and boutiques ranging from the luxurious and exclusive Ultrafemme boasting brands such as Rolex and Mont Blanc and Liverpool tax-free shopping center to small stands with locally handcrafted leather accessories. This vibrant part of Playa is best enjoyed as a tranquil evening stroll starting from 1st and 5th going through the busy 12th street finally reaching Little Italy.
Paseo del Carmen
This shopping labyrinth, all decorated in white, has some of the trendier clothing stores in Playa, with a wide selection from Breshka to Diesel as well as small bars to enjoy a relaxing frozen margarita break from a busy shopping afternoon.
Calle Corazon
This small, short strip just off 5th avenue, between 12th and 14th street is an intimate setback from the busy 5th avenue. Its main focus in on the exhibition of local artisans’ work, such as pottery, furniture pieces and wonderful paintings, with Caribbean as well as Mayan motifs. There are also clothing stores and small stands with the actual artisan promoting his own work.
